I sometimes have difficulty starting a new book once I’ve finished the previous one. Having recently finished Abbadon’s Gate by James S. A. Corey, I find myself at the crossroads.
Do I plough on and start the next book in the series, Cibola Burn? I’ve already invested a decent chunk of time to this series, and I’m liking what I’m reading. It makes sense to keep the momentum going and I have the book on hand. Or do I start something new? I’ve been meaning to get back on the horse with The Dark Tower by Stephen King. I’m currently up to Book IV: Wolves of the Calla and want to continue following Roland as he inches ever closer to the Dark Tower.
Perhaps I could foray in to Terry Pratchett’s Discworld again. I’ve missed it terribly and haven’t picked up one of his novels since his death. I think I’m up to Pyramids and I could use a laugh. I could even revisit the old favourites, but which to pick? Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time is due for a re-read sometime soon, as is Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files.
Hard decisions.
