I finished my essay and it’s taken a lot out of me. Working and studying was never going to be easy and right now, it just wants to rub my nose in it.
I expected that there would be difficulties in writing it and indeed there were. I struggled to form the arguments I wanted to make despite my own verbosity and I feel like I didn’t have enough scholarly references despite providing plenty.
Overall, it wasn’t a pleasant experience and I’m glad it’s done with, but now that it is done, I realise that I still have half a dozen things to do for university and I need to pack up my house for the move in a couple of weeks.
But, on the bright side, Factorio 0.15 was released earlier this week and I managed to get in a couple of sneaky hours. I’m impressed by how far this game has come and I’m looking forward to June so that I can sit down and have a thorough go at it.
I haven’t read much lately, other than The Keys to Academic English, a handy book about essay writing by Adrian Hale and Helen Basides. It’s jam packed with useful guidance about academic writing and I wouldn’t have been able to submit my essay on time without following some of it.
